What else you need to get good rock tone ????

Marshall JTM45 ´64 / Marshall 4x12 with greenbacks / Sputnik Belka Overdrive and my trusty Suhr Classic Blackie Antique

Enjoy, or not

I wouldn't have a JTM45 as my only amp if I had one, but I think it is my favorite amp in terms of absolute tone. Sounds fantastic.

right when you strummed those first chords, I was like

definitely a classic tone that you can't go wrong with

Very nice tone!!

I had the recent Marshall reissue Bluesbreaker 2x12 combo for a few months and I couldn't coax those tones out of it...I tried.

Great guitar & amp, you fingerpickers are teH shite.

Nice! Ever try the Marshall Vintage Modern? I ask because Marshall engineer and Vintage Modern creater Steve Dawson said the VM is a continuation in the evolution of the JTM 45. Regardless you have some killer rock tone there!!

Really? I've played a VM but not a JTM45. I wasn't diggin the VM at all. JTM45 sounded better than that and nothing like a VM.

The VM may not be your cup of tea but I'm betting if you try my settings with a boost pedal out fron you may like it more than you currently do.I really like my VM but I will admit I'd love to see what Freidman could do to it.

Cool. Let me know what you think. I use an Barber Direct Drive, Volume cranked, Drive < 9:00 and tone knob at 12:00. The amp... reverb off, presence around 2:00, bass at noon, mid 11:00, treble 2:00, high dynamic range, mid boost out, detail at 4:00 or more, body 10:00. This is with a greenback loaded 4x12. Even if you still don't think much of the amp let me know. These setting are geared towards an 80s metal tone.
