For your consideration...

I have a very special Limited run 1978 Kalamazoo made Gibson Les Paul Standard.

Signed my Les Paul!!!!

These were a custom order for the Grinnell Bros music stores which was a huge Gibson dealer with one guitar built for every retail store. Grinnell’s was the largest piano, instrument, sheet music and teaching store. Les signed the backplates with a vibratory engraver at the press release party at the flagship store in Detroit.

This guitar is factory stock...no mods. It's in superb condition for 44 years old!!! NO CRACKS, NO BREAKS, NO REPAIRS

It has a medium C profile neck...3 piece maple. One piece body with a maple top. It weighs 10 lbs, 14 oz.

Frets are in great shape. Sets up really well. Fresh setup with 10s. Excellent playability and tone!!!

All factory original...original case....no parts changed.

$5000 plus shipping FIRM...no trades...I accept paypal gift, Zelle, personal checks, cashier's checks, money orders and in person cash deals.

Thanks for looking!!!!

That’s getting up there in Les Paul Custom territory from that era. I assume it’s all because of the signature on a removable plate? Has the signature been professionally verified? Did he sign all 31 guitars or just this one? Have you had it professionally appraised based on its condition? If so what was the appraised condition and value?

Thanks

I have not had it appraised. I’m basing the price on the rarity and the condition and the signed plate. The signature does don’t have a COA, but it’s been examined by several luthiers in Michigan, who all believe it to be legit.

Thanks for the reply.

It’s unfortunate but I’d want more paperwork along with the news article to go with it. You know I don’t play around and own three customs from this era but there’s too much officially missing for my interest if the signature and story is any part of the price at all.

I really do recommend an official appraisal for the condition. Does it have the original sales tag in the case?

Regardless thanks for sharing and Good luck with the sale.
