This just showed up from Europe and it's a 1996 Silverface with the old script. Notice the Cruch switch.

Peter do you know anything about this amp, was this a custom order because I have never seen a silverface this old.

Crunch switch what does it do? I am dropping it off at my amp tech so he can go through it, it showed up at my door 5 minutes ago.

Its pretty much a Blueface but in silver. I should have time to really check it out after my amp guy goes through it next week.

man i like that typeface far better than the current. awesome find! im assuming you bought it...? or is it just making a stop over at your house en route to somewhere else?

I got it for myself as a backup for my 95 blueface but realistically I don't even play at the level where I need a backup

I do love the old blueface tone though but I really need a PA for my jam room so it may be going to another member here that has dibs on it if I decide that I cant afford to keep it.

crunch switch and all, very cool find or whatever!, i really like the script and such

awwwesome

Peter this is a very special head are you sure you don't remember building this one?

My amp guy who went over my other Diezels including my 95 Blueface said that the attention to detail in this 96 is really amazing in it's construction, extra care was given to making this head according to what he saw. It is one of the best Diezel amps he has ever heard, I have never heard a VH4 that sounds like this one.

What's so different, sound-wise, compared to other VH4's? You know, besides the switch.
