Sounds good Dave...I prefer the Jose sound. Which speakers and pickups?

Aldrich... Gain knob one was pulled out and set to 8.5 and the other gain knob in the jack hold was set to 7 (or 2 o'clock ). I was at 85-90% gain level. Presence was at 4, Bass at 7, mids were at 6 and Treble was at 5.5. Bass boost was at 2 o'clock and the Q was set to 10 o'clock. The brown switch was engaged (voltage was lowered).
Both amps have Winged C el34's.
Jose RFT in V1, C9 V2 and Tungsol in V3
Aldrich- RFT V1 and Tungsol in V2 and V3. If I put a Chinese in V2 the amp get more treble...but the gain becomes super saturated...almost like I turned on a pedal.
I know it is annoying to the clock settings, but since there are no numbers for some controls, I am trying to give you and idea where things were at.
One funny thing. Both of the Cameron's seem to like the tone controls around 6. The Jose really changes structure when the Presence knob is changed. I moved it from 6 to 7 in the first video and you can hear the saturation change.
Also, you can hear how the Jose is more up front in the sound and the Aldrich seems to sit further back. All reamping and speakers were EXACTLY the same between the 2 clips. Volume levels were the same as well. I used the meter on Rocktron as a guide.

The Aldrich is a little harder to play at the lower gain levels...more like a stock Marshall...if you know what I mean. At the higher gain levels, the Aldrich is the winner. I have a hard time deciding which on I like better. Last night I brought up the Aldrich in the family room and played through an oversized 2x12 Marshall copy loaded with 2 early 70's greenbacks and the tone was to die for. Thick, smooth yet dripping with that Cameron tone frequency that I love. My wife actually liked the tone as well....and for her to say something is unheard of
12 o'clock on the master. Holy crap that must be loud . That must sound glorious . My Jose is ridiculously loud. I can play with a loud metal band and only be at 2 on the master.MrDan666":drvnvavj said:psychodave":drvnvavj said:I hear ya, they both have a playability to them that is insane. Haha awesome! Well its gotta be a winner then
I found that my Jose got this absolutely insane tone and saturation happening, when i used the volume pretty high. I usually have the Master Volume on my modded Marshalls set around or close to 12 o clock, so i guess that does help to get the amp cooking a lot more than usual With my 50watter, i have the amp blazing with the MV at around 1 o clock when im using it at band practice
