My favorite Friedman out of a lot of them. This is a pretty rare amp. Only 150 or so were made. It’s in great condition. There is some slight damage to the head shell on the bottom but you can’t see it unless you turn it upside down. I bought it this way.
A gain structure switch was added by the previous owner and works perfect. I “tuned” this one a bit and it sounds fantastic.
I did 3 very minor tweaks:
- Moved NFB from 16 ohm to 4 ohm tap.
- Changed PI fizz cap from 100pf to 68pf
- Added a 3.3k resistor to the metro loop (there is a solder pad for it already) per Dave’s recommendation. This reduced a hum that it had stock. It’s very quiet now.
