Hey all, just got a 20th aniversary XTC and I've encountered a few issues which maybe someone here can help. I use a pedalboard with a few high quality fx in the loop. These are a TC Chorus, a Strymon reverb and a TRex delay and am using the loop in serial mode. To hit the pedals with the right amount of signal the channel levels are about 12 oclock. The volume is then fixxed if I want to hit the loop bypass and I'm stuck with that volume which isn';t really all that loud (I have yet to play with my band w/it yet) or I can raise the return but then I can't use the bypass. Overall the amp sounds great but doesn't seem loud compared to my Elmwood or Diezels. Anyone have any ideas or am I doing something wrong?

Also, the gain boost on the clean channel seems entirely useless to me as turning it on also boosts the volume to almost twice what the clean channel is at. I don't get it...is there some sort of adjustment for this? My gain on the clean channel is about halfway up. Thanks for the help.

Congrats on the purchase Braddah...

First piece of advice, get to know this amp without the FX first and foremost. You'll come to realize what the BOOSTS are for when you've sorted out the EQ. Boost works in a different way than a lot of other amps - it actually works, as opposed to just crankin' the mids and the volume a touch. I'd not screw with the FX loop or anything in the front until you've got this puppy dialed. Furthermore, read the manual - there are subtractive/eliminative EQ adjustments and toggles on the face of the amp. It took me a good 20+ hours to get 'er all figured out and completely dialed.

I don't think you'll be displeased whatsoever with this amp. And as for loud? Are you pumping this thing through a 4x12?? The anniversary 4x12?? Bro, if I get even as near noon on the MV my walls start to shake... So we gotsta figure out what's going on over on your end...

This is my right arm, my 20thA - I think I know it better than any amp I've ever had. If you have ANY questions, feel free to PM me.

Peace,
V.
