Really interested in this amp and I have an opportunity to buy one at a good price without reverb. No reverb not a big deal to me but I do like some delay. That is the ONLY effect I ever use thou. I run either a tc flashback or mad professor deep blue delay. No problems whatsoever it seems with my 101b but the Uberschall loop is suspect and definitely changes my tone (maybe I'm doing something wrong?) So just wondeing how big of a deal will this be with the 20th Shiva.

I will noodle with mine later and see.. I have a new delay and a ebtech line level box to see whats shakin with it..
Shit Ive had the shiva and cabinet for a year and played it once to put in 6550 and its been sitting since so its time to noodle...

HUH? Who said the loop was so bad?

Yeah, the loop on the regular Shiva sux the tones.........

The loop on the 20th Shiva definately sucks the high end when it's on. That was my only complaint about that amp. If it had a decent loop I'd kept it.

You bastards :D now I'm conflicted, $1700 shipped sounds like a killr price to me, what to do? Told him I'd let him know by tomorrow if I want it or not before he lists it for sale elsewhere. How does it differ tones wise from the 101b?

I've had both and I'd easily take the 20th Shiva over a 101B. Way less compressed sounding and the clean is sweet. The loop is the only drawback on the amp and you don't need it much just deal with it. I know if you can run short cables on the loop it'll help. It's a killer amp and $1700 aint bad. Go for it.

I wouldn't exactly consider my 101b real compressed, as it has had a capacitor and resistor snipped off the pcb for channel 3 now making it like a pre 2004 version of the 101b. It is now more in line with the level of compression on the blue channel. The amp came to me like this from SLOgriff but also came with the seperate resistor and capacitor supplied from Bogner. Out of curiosity I soldered them on piggy backing the resistor already on there. Defintely more compressed and a little more gain but does not sound as good to me so I removed it. bwintegra here sold me a marvel mod so I can make it switchable but it sounds so good right now I have no motivation to open her up and install it. On Bogners website it talks about how Reinhold himself did no want to add the gain and compression but reluctantly did so out of popular demand. From what I've read I' about him I'm surprised he caved and went for it. I think it is just perfect the way it was pre 2004. I'm an absolute gainfreak and it it still has plenty for my tastes even before I hit 12 o clock on the gain knob, and I can't say that about any of my other amps, they are all set past 12 o clock. Must be something about the taper of the gain pot.

Get a Suhr ISO line out, run the out into a delay and into a SS amp or go wet dry. Best solution or use rack effects. Get the amp!

I will try it again without anything in the loop.. That son of a bitch had some highs. i got the ebtech line lift if someone will tell me how the hell to plug it in right!!!!!!!!! Is pedals -10 level or +4

so it would go amp send to+4 to -10 to pedal back to -10 then +4 to amp

WOW. My head's spinning!  I'm not sure what connections the Ebtech has and what it does. I'll have a look when I get chance and get back to you, Dave..... However, what you have outlined sounds like it would be right. Definitely need -10 going to the pedals.....

or do i just use one channel

I personally didnt see much wrong at the moment with the loop. But of course the moment I use the shiva to gig shit will fall apart real quick as the pedal jeanie was supposed to be a 50hr rechargeable pedal board,,,but thats another story...

eeeeeeeeeeek help me with this darn line level thing!!!

I like mine you will be happy,, every guitar sounds unique through it..
