So I'm sure I'll get some flack for saying this but man the 20th Anniversary Shiva destroys the Twin Jet  I had a Twin Jet for a couple months and really tried to like it but I never did jive with it and the effects loop was complete crap. I sold that and bought a 20th Anniversary Shiva and I couldn't be happier. The effects loop is great and the amp is sooo much more dynamic. I can go from dumble/fender tones to plexi/modern tones easily. The tone stack is actually intuitive, unlike the Twin Jet and its easy to dial in a good tone. With the gain button pushed in and the mid button pushed in it gives you amazing gain tones! I couldn't be happier at the moment

Should have tried 34's in the Twin Jet...mine kills...

Glad you dig the 20th Shiva in any event. Any chance of clips? The one's out there don't sound like they do the amp any justice.

The 20th Shiva is an amazing amp.

After having it for 3-4 months, the ONLY gripe that I have is that the "gain" mode should have been footswitchable.

That would have almost made it a 4 channel amp, which would be sick.

I thought about changing tubes but decided that I didn't want to do any mods on it and instead let the GAS flow   I'll see about getting some clips that sound decent. All I know is my Caparison Dellinger with the Painkiller Trilogy Suite into the 20th Ann Shiva is tonal heaven.

Yeah that would be nice to have for sure. I wonder if it's an easy mod to do... Just take the reverb TRS and have it trigger that instead.

I think I agree, I just cannot read everything since I cannot get my eyes off of your Avatar. :D

I would still need to boost the 20th Shiva even with all the buttons pressed in to max it out personally. Great amp though.

YES  Still luv my 20th Xtc and the honey moon should be over but it just keeps going. :D

Can't wait to get my 20th Shiva. I ordered mine from Bogner with EL34s!
When I ordered I asked Bogner about the EL34 verson. I said I was going for classic rock to 90s to some modern, I told them I was going for moe Cantrell, Howerdell, maybe some Lynch thrown in, etc. They said EL34 model all the way.

Has anyone compared the 20th Shiva to the regular Shiva EL34? I'm thinking about getting one. I've tried the Shiva EL34 and thought the cleans were amazing, best I ever heard. Wondering how the 20th Shiva clean compares to the reg Shiva.

Thanks,

Tony

I was worried about the gain but for me its just right and not so high-gain that it flabs out the bottom end. I tried a TS-9 in front of it but I like it better without. I just love how I can use my Tele with this amp and my Caparisons and it'll sound great either way.

Yea, I doubt you would need anything in front of it. Most people use too much gain anyway.

To further update this post, I've been playing my Tele recently through the 20th Ann Shiva and man it is beautiful when cranking the channel volumes while leaving the master down. Obviously I dial it in TOTALLY different than when playing metal but this amp covers it all so well
