This is a little long, but I want to cover the entire issue.
Just goy my hands on a 20th Shiva. First off love the amp, great tone, excellent feel as well as very versatile. However I am getting a hum that I can't seem to eliminate. Looking for some advice, or thoughts on the issue.
The Hum (not hiss from volume or boost)
When I start up the amp, there is some hum (Not to bad). This is irregardless of clean or dirty channel, bright or no bright, shift or no shift, boost or no boost. This is not so bad that you can't play at pretty good volume levels. After playing for 20 to 30 minutes, the hum gets loader and becomes very noticeable in fact much to loud to use the amp for recording. It reminds me of a ground loop hum, and I have tried lifting and reversing the ground.
The hum remains:
*As long as the amp is in the play mode
*Even when all amp volume controls are turned completely down
*Excursion up or down
*FX loop utilized or not
*Guitar plugged in or not (volume up or down)
Basically just the amp turned on, off standby by with all volumes down and no instrument plugged in.
Amp details: KT88 version, non-reverb, boost mod (not sure who did the mod, it came to me that way and seems to have been done well)
Could this be a power tube bias thing or ???
Looking for some advice
