A little background on these tubes:
Many tube amps from the late 80s and early 90s were designed around these tubes (including Mesa Boogie, Marshall, Bogner, Soldano, VHT, Hughes & Kettner, Lee Jackson, and Mike Morin).
These were produced from the '70s to early '90s, and are a high gain tube that is very musical and warm sounding. They are nothing like the current production 12AX7 tubes that are made in China today. A triple mica spacer on top of the plate structure and a square waffle-like getter distinguish these sought-after tubes.
