For a non polished track I think its pretty damn good. There are things that need eqing, etc, but over all I give it a

Guitar playing is good and i'm diggin the track!

Hey guys,

Haven't been in except passing due to wife getting full on knee surgury (while pregnant), starting to teach again...

(this one is the good thing) and because I have been recording!

Finishing up, this is a rough, and some of the leads will be replaced by a friend playing on this with me.
Hopefully early next year I'll have it out. No EQ on any guitar yet, drums still need to be tweeked too... yada yada, you get the idea:

ANY feedback is most welcome

Ok, here is my feedback. Your lead playing is ludicrous... off the charts technique and feel - I really love it. Lead tone is ok, but doesn't knock me out. The rhythm tones sound dead to me. Too low in the mix and lacking dynamics, thickness and life. The backing sounds like basic midi tracks - too precise and no groove. My general feeling is that I don't understand where you are going with the composition. Ok, harmonic minor, but I don't get any feel for melody or repeating themes that make it hang together. I'd like to hear some musical themes and variations that don't sound like random leads.

I hope this doesn't sound too negative. You are a badass player and I think with some thought to melodies and repeating themes this could be killer and get across to more than just a few guitar players...

I'll need to listen again at home on some decent speakers, but the playing is ridiculous!

I think it's pretty freaking badass!! Definately has a very unique vibe and feel to it. I agree though that the tones are amazing, but decent. The rhythm tone is definately boring and dead, could use some sparking up. Otherwise amazing material!! Your lead playing is has such a mysterious/dark vibe going on. Wish I had skillz like that.

Something really odd though, when I play it at work, it starts the track 2x, less than a second inbetween the start times, so it sounds like it has an echo throught the whole song. At first I thought this was how it was and I was like "Wtf is up with this?" Then I hit pause and one of the plays stopped, very odd indeed...

And I just tried to play it and had one version playing on top of another, WTF???
Weird, playing pause stopped the extra at least.

Yeah, same thing here. At first I thought you got carried away with the multi-tracking. :D

Lance, you are the man my brother!  Incredible playing. As far as critisism, I would have to agree with Steve (sah5150). Also, that wicked freakin vibrato thing you do so well, I think it can be too much of a good thing at times. I LOVE hearing it, but I think you use it too much. This is my honest opinion bro. Otherwise......just KILLER

I love your lead playing on every clip you've posted. Your vibrato is really wide (which I like). The composition is pretty cool too!. Great job! I like the tone you've got going on as well.

Your playing kicks ass Lance!! Are you using one of your G-Flex cabs on this track??

Sign me up for one the CDs when you're done!!

The rhythm tone is really buried in the mix. The riffs seem really cool, but you can barely hear them. Lead playing is great.
