Hi everyone,

I am thinking about buying a 2x12 cabinet for some smaller gigs that sounds
good with my Herbert. Although I think the Diezel 2x12 cabinets may be the
perfect match, I think they are too expensive for me at the moment.

My choices are :

* Mesa Boogie Rectifier 2x12 w/ V30 (639 EUR)
* Orange 2x12 w/ V30 (649 EUR)
* Bogner 2x12 Closed Big Size w/ V30 (799 EUR)

Which cab would you recommend? Would you recommend mixing speakers?

The Bogner seems to be a bit slanted which might be a good thing.

Thanks.
Markus

I can recommend the Ear Candy Buzzbomb. Mine has 2 of their Green Machine speakers... has lots of deep end and power handling capability for the Herbert 180w monster :D .

I also have a Carvin 2 by 12 with V30's in it. Very reasonable and sounds great also.

Bear in mind the Bogner cab is only a couple of inches smaller than a 4x12. I'm personally picking up a Mesa 2x12 to use with my incoming Einstein for similar instances.

Yes the Bogner 2x12 is only slightly smaller than a quad but substasially lighter! Depends what sound you're after. The Bogner 2x12 o/size is a rearloaded cab and will sound somewhat darker in tone than a frontloaded. Personally I find the frontloaded cabs better suited to my Herbert. I like more classic rock sounds though. If you want more modern scouped sounds, the rearloaded may suit you better.

also keep in mind that 2xV30 = 120W vs. Herbert 180W.

but as it is for smaller gigs only this could work nevertheless...
