I have and love my Renegade head. I was hoping Egnater might add another channel to this amp? The tourmaster is to heavy and to over the top for me. I love the sound of the Renegade just give me one more clean channel. I like to run my clean channel dirty and love the second channel but, I also love the beautiful super clean you can get with this amp. I can use an overdrive pedal but, I ditched all my pedals and was just using a M9 thru the loop. Oh well just throwing it out there.

I dunno - might want to wait for the new modular line and just go with a BMAN module and an SL2; supposedly that's what the Renegade is based on.

(sigh) agreed - the new modular line is supposed to be more affordable than the shop-made stuff, though. We'll see. Could just get an E2 (when it comes out) with a BMAN module and run that into the loop of the Renegade. It's taken me a while now (and selling a bunch of gear currently) to finally take the plunge with an M4 setup.
With so many options of Rebels, Renegades, Tweakers, Tourmasters (and soon to be Armageddons and Vengeances), it would seem unlikely for the Renegade to be reworked for a 3rd channel, since it has a lot of options as it is; an adjustable/footswitchable gain boost would probably take less redesigning.

I thought Renegade did have an adjustable footswitch for gain/boost? Am I misreading you?

I thought 3-channel amps were always clean, crunch, lead. What amps are out there with a clean clean and an overdriven clean and a crunch? That is interesting, but I thought you had to do it with pedals.

I like normal clean of the Renegade a lot. The bright switch is very useful as well. I mostly keep the clean gain around 6 though. If I boost it I get that weird honky breakup. I'm not sure it's too useful to me personally.

But I think I am totally missing the point on this discussion. I also don't know anything about modular stuff or mod 50. I've seen it in other threads but didn't figure it out.

It's a volume boost on the Renegade floorboard. It doesn't change gain. Only volume. Handy. But not the same thing.
