3 Different Necks On The Same Guitar

I have one guitar body that I have put at least 6 different necks on and each one of them totally changed the sound of the guitar, Even going from maple to maple was a pretty noticeable difference.... one of the maple necks I put on suddenly made the guitar very "hollow" to the point if I hit the body it was almost Bell like, almost made it unplayable

It is a very interesting thing to do

Neat video. Back-to-back comparison happens around 6:19. Not sure if I hear a difference or not. First time I listened through I did, now I'm not sure. For those interested in reading up on some of the physics of how necks affect the way a guitar sounds, chapter 7 of this book seems to be a pretty good research-based resource:

I was surprised that I could hear the difference between the RW and 50s maple without looking during the tone comparison. Something about the way the low notes sound to me sounds way different. Weird. I'm a maple guy I guess. Makes sense, since most of my main guitars have always had maple boards.

I heard differences right away. The maple necks had more top end than the rosewood.
