Those clips sound great.
Does the modded version do the stock tone by plugging into a different input or is it just a case of backing off on the preamp gain?

Thank you!
I will offer the modded version with an on /off switch or normal volume push/pull pot.
This will take it from stock to modded with a flick of a switch. :)

Beautiful build, and great playing as always
Amp sounds freakin' great!
Definitely something a little different from the "modded Marshall" thing, and covers a lot of ground. Awesome
GLWS!

Are you running 500+vdc on the screens like the Hiwatts ?

I'm building these amp heads from the ground up and offering them stock or high gain modded versions with tube buffered effects loop.
Based on the classic Hiwatt DR103 Circuitry from 1971-1974.
These DR103 build is a reproduction of the amps made by Dave Reeves in the early 1970s.
The tone stack is unique and different than the “FMV” controls found on most amplifiers, and has significantly more tonal range.
In there stock forum these are relatively low gain amps with plenty of punch and headroom, and are great with pedals.
The modded version (R/T mod) has tons of organic over drive turning this amp into a monster Hiwatt with enough gain to play any style of metal.
(plug & play)
- 100 watts via 4 x EL34 Power Tubes
- Custom Partridge clone transformers by Heyboer Transformers
- 3 x 12AX7, 1 x 12AT7
- 4 inputs (linkable)
- Controls: Normal Vol | Brill Vol | Bass | Treble | Middle | Presence | Master Volume
Upgrade options:
- High Gain R/T mod.
- Tube Buffered Effects Loop.
Modded with the R/T mod and FX loop - $1995 USD + $125 USD shipped and insured.
Stock Version - $1795 USD + $125 USD shipped and insured.

Modded version sound clip.

Killer amp as always Jack Frost

The plates are where you want to measure from because the screens are generally a little less.
I'm just over 500+vdc at the plates.

Not too many current EL-34's can take that high of voltage would you agree ?
Your amp & lead dress is stellar to say the least.

Yes, I agree.
I've never had any problems myself with this, 6CA7's will solve any problems one might have.
I can't live without the high voltages, it's where the glorious tones come from. :)
Your kind words mean a lot to me, thank you.

Is that something that could possibly be foot-switchable?
