so, when you guys are using your 4100, which channel and input have you found gets the golden spot best for your OD/ FUZZ/ Etc. pedals?
I am just wanting to hear what other's people uses are....

I have been using High input with Channel 1 on 50 or 100 watts, with channel 2 at 10/20 watts for a darker boost... 2 is many times too dark to use in a mix with the band, though it is nice by itself. I mainly use a maxon 808/ tube screamer and russian big muff with that..

The owners manual suggests CH 1 for a super clean canvas:

"The most pristine tones are typically achieved by cutting the MIDRANGE and setting the VOICING switch to MODERN."

However, last night I was trying to dial in a Gilmour-esque Wall Muff type tone using an Absolutely Analog Green Russian and it seemed that Hi-input, channel 2 vintage with gain maxed, NO countour, and tone controls set left of noon worked best. This channel has very little drive and seems to respond well to my picking dynamics. As always, YMMV.

I should also mention that we're only monitoring with headphones, so I'm not sure how it would cut in a live mix..I'll have to see..

Cheers!

Rob
