Holy Crap!! So i think i finally settled in on my tone! BUT, Can this be done?

Diezel REAR loaded cab with Hempcone's and GK100's in a X configuration.?
Any phase, tone, or volume issues that i should be worried about?

I played my 1X12 GK 100 with my Hempcone RL last night and it sounded great. So thats basically what made me decide on this. Separate, they were "ok", but playing them both were like freakin tone nirvanna. I am now ready to sell my old diezel RL cabinet.

Also, im thinking of maybe doing 1 GK100, 1 CL80, and 2 hempcones in the RL 4X12... But i dont know if thats possible with out some kind of volume or phase issue..

i heard that the G12Ks dont sound so hot in the RL cabs...but give it a shot. the worse that could happen is that you dont like it. all thats lost is your time & effort.

Any tonal descriptions? Like muddy etc...

Sell a couple of cabs you dont use much and get a new FL Diezel cab either 212 or 412 with GK100s. That along with your new RL hemp cab would give you the best of both worlds!

the G12Ks are kinda neutral to me. No freq spikes @ all. Pretty plain jane. Allows for much use of the EQ. But with the Hemps they may sound good. Its trial & error. Thats how i do it. Take it apart. put it back together. take it apart again

GK-100s work great in rear-loaded cabs IMO. I have had GK-100s in a RL Diezel cab (US), a Bogner Ubercab and a Mills Acoustics Afterburner 412. In each case x-pattern with v30s. I also have them in a FL Diezel cab (US). They are great speakers to mix with v30s IMO. As said above, they are kind of neutrally balnced - but have a big tight low-end. They help tame some of the high-mid spike of the v30s.

Sweet! Im doing it!
I'll be the first to report about how good or bad the NEW RL cabs sound with Hempcones and GK100's in an X config.
I have a good feeling about it because it sounded great with my 1X12 and 4X12 together.

The hemps defiinitely colour my tone. But its a good coloration (although grainy), very warm but strangely at the same time, kind of bright.

The GK100's are tight and articulate. Also kind of bright, but neutral and kinda punchy. I like the fact that they are very responsive. Thats what i want. I like to notice every nuance and pick attack from my strings. No hiding with this speaker.

Together i think they will be a good match allthough im kind of concerned about the GK's overpowering the hemps in volume and tone...

Once they get wired in, they'll all be running at 40W (or whatever the HC's are rated at per piece) each regardless - so it ought to be fine. My concern would be counter intuitive to yours - that the G's don't get driven enough... They're heavy magnet speakers; they're 100W a piece; this oughta be interesting

I think you'll like the tonal blending. As to one overpowering the other that's more of an efficiency issue than wattage handling. A K100 is rated at 97dB/1W/1M. I don't know the SPL of the hempcone but as long as it's within 1-2 dB you should be fine.
