After hearing (and inquiring, lol) Rockstah's awesome clips, I decided I needed an English Greenback as well (thanks dude). I know there's a ton of other variables, but I figured it can't hurt! So bear in mind this speaker is brand new here, handful of hours use.

The amp is also new but by the time I added this little clip to my thread in the main forum, it was already dead, lol. So anyways...

sounds good. my guess though is that isn't a sm57? sounds like a condenser mic... the amp doesn't sound like that in the room?

Thanks!

Great ears Rockstah! It's not a 57, it's actually 57 + e906 blended. The 57 is pointing at the cap and off axis, the e906 is a little further out, mid cone. It's getting harder for me to say what an amp sounds like in the room, well, it's also getting harder for me to setup the tone by listening to the amp these days, lol, because now all I ever do is turn the dials on the head while listening through monitors in another room. Prolly wrong but, but eh, that's my setup now. What do you think may be lacking? Hey, I'm trying to grow here!

cool. i always use just a 57. funny as it may sound i look into the speaker and find where my ears line up as far as getting the sound of the amp and then point the mic straight on.

Nice. Thanks again. Doesn't sound odd to me.

One more question...I've heard totally opposite takes about the Greenbacks, some have said they take forever to break in, some said they're actually one of the quickest. I already lieky, can't wait til it ages some more. Whay say YOU?

derek

i'm not real sure. i know i prefer the England made greenbacks that have 6420 on the speaker paper.
