Every amp I have has at least 5 if I include my right hand, the pickup and the one to two stages in most of my dirt pedals. But that doesn’t even include the most important gain stages of all,,,,,,my heart and my balls

I don't think there is that many out there, But 5150 comes to mind. Personaly I think 4 gain stages has tons of gain if done correctly.

Agreed. I don’t at all know my technical stuff like you do, but the Hermansson Recto mods are supposed to be 4GS and sounded similarly gainy to me as the 5GS ones I had and much prefer them actually

For current builds I’d think the Wizard Hell Razor must have quite a few gain stages with how much is on tap, but I don’t really know. For non-current builds also the early Uber’s and Megalith Beta. I’d guess my other favorite high gain amps probably have less gain stage(s), but who knows

It's an eleven gain stages square wave generator known as channel 4 on a carvin quad x.
Pretty sure it's responsible for ships disappearing in the Bermuda Triangle
