John, Ed, how well was it received at the show? Did someone purchase it?

Any new news on these? When are these going to be available?

I think John's son now owns it.
No man, they need to send it to me and I'll make some clips...and when they make mine I'll return it. Then it'll be ok to give it to his kid.

Never tried a Herbert, but I played "...Scissors" through my old Einstein many times. I'm still dying to play that song (and many others) through a Suhr modern 7.

I did get a chance to play the 7 string at NAMM:

The guitar was awesome! The model in the pic is the very first one they made ... Ed Yoon told me they were about ready to start taking orders. They were still working on some hardware and pickup issues. I will be ordering one soon!

Dear Guitar wizard Mr Carl Roa... nice to meet you and how much would a suhr modern 7 be like?

Nice to meet you as well! I'm not sure ... I would imagine the pricing would be similar to the 6 string Modern, and dependent on the options and woods, etc.

I haven't heard anything else. I was hoping they were going to be at the NY Ampshow in June, but I don't see them on the vendor list.

I just can't bring myself to drop D, she plays too well in standard tuning. A seven string on the other hand...

one month bump

really hoping these drop soon, as I'm biding my time with a mid-range 7 instead of commiting funds to a custom shop or something else...what I really want is one of these!

Yeah it was built for him in the first place. He is the one who put me to the challenge, the condition was he was Valedictorian at graduation and he was, so I owed him a 7 !

We are buttoning up options, pickups and bridges but they will be drizzling out soon !

What would he have to accomplish to crank out an 8 String baritone Modern?

Congrats to your son - if my father was as successful in your line of work, I think concentrating on my studies would be near-impossible!

so happy to hear this news, hopefully drizzling means by the end of the summer

thanks for the update

Can't wait for these.

PS

Jimmie, whenever I see your avatar, I want to punch that kid right in his f$#kin' face. ;) :D

Just wanted to give a heads up that I saw on another forum a dealer saying that Suhr is ready to begin taking orders for the 7 string...with EMGs only

progress is good though, right?

p.s. wasn't sure if it was cool to link the other forum here or not, so I didn't

That same dealer on another forum said that Suhr is willing to accept user supplied passives for it. So if you want to slap in some Duncans, DiMarzios, Bare Knuckles or whatever you can.
