As you guys can tell from my other threads, I'm torn and evolving my buying decisions by the minute here...appreciate the advice from all of you.
This thread assumes that I am going with a MOD50, which at this moment in time seems the more likely outcome..
I am starting up a cover band that is going to be focused primarily on 90s songs - Foo Fighters, Soundgarden, AIC, Bush, STP, Live, Collective Soul, Tonic, Nirvana, PJ, Staind, Creed (gasp!!), etc. Trying to pick out the two modules that would get me the most mileage in this context...
I am really thinking the VX and SL2 (or maybe SL2X). Seems that a lot of 90s bands utilized the Vox AC30's distortion character to the extreme (I know Dave Grohl, Live and STP used a lot of AC30, along with some Marshall and Boogie), and of course the SL2 (with some pedals) could pick up a lot of the other stuff, e.g. AIC, Soundgarden.
Any other suggestions? Personally, I really like the T/D, but I am not sure it would be as useful in this context as the VX. Also, I love the Erect, but again, it is not a flexible as the SL2/X.
Thanks!
