Howdy.
Heard an Uberschall for the first time the other day and really dug the tone, then went and demo'd a Twin Jet.
A couple of questions come to mind, after discussing with someone about an older Uber.
To me, it seemed as if the Twin Jet was a very tight amp, similar in a way to my Diezel VH4 ch.3, where the notes kind of stick tight when you are playing. Reminded me less of my Herbert, and more of my VH4, or Mark V.
Now, I was talking with someone about an Uber and they said they thought an Uberschall was definitely not a tight amp at all, and we must have different definitions of tight.
Now, I bought a Rivera KR7 earlier this year after hearing how much of a tight amp those were, and I couldn't deal with it very long, and thought it was definitely not one of the tightest amps i have heard.
Now, perhaps some of this Tight talk has to do with De-tuning? Perhaps?
in my band, we typically are tuned standard E. The Rivera was sold pretty quickly, as even thought it is a great amp, it just wasn't for me.
Now, I have been looking for a very raw and heavy amp for awhile, and was wondering if the Twin Jet is what I am really looking for? When I played it the other day, it seemed pretty capable of being mean and heavy, and the notes tracked pretty tight, at least I thought so.
Do other people have the same thoughts, or do I have to go back and listen again?
