I'w been dreaming of one of the Diezel amps and i really want one!

but unfortunately there are no place close to my place to try them out :( (live in Norway)
so i guess ask here if someone knew what kind of Diezel would suit me best.
I know its extremely ignorant and stupid to buy an amp without trying it but i'm pretty sure its the Diezel i want ^^.

I want an amp that is very versital, but mainly my needs is:

* nice clean channel with a modern sound like Opeth or something im not into the vintage sound but i want it to be warm and dynamic.

* A Crunch channel or at least one of the channels can be used for a crunch tone.
something like the Rise Against guitars maybe?

* Brutal Distortion for metalcore, 80s metal, Rock etc.

* Nice and smooth lead :D

Bands i would like to sound like:

Opeth
Rise Against
Tool
Amplifier
Foo Fighters
Parkway Drive
Circa Survive
** and versital enough to make my own tone :D

If someone could help me i would be grateful:) and please explain your choice*

I wouldn't mind if you could help me with a guitar choice ether ^^, i have a PRS SC trem (USA) but i think the #6 treble pickups don't suit my style. so i wondered if i should buy a Gibson LP Silverburst, black beauty or the Agile 2500 silverburst w. Sh 4 JB in bridge.

I guess I would say, based on that, VH4?

Yeah, guess I'd say the same, the VH4 should deliver exactly what you're looking for. Or, if you don't need the switching flexibility, maybe the Einstein should be considered as well.

Cheers and good luck

Oki :) The VH4 was on my first choice but i heard that it is very hard to tweak it, and its a little more aggressive in a trebly way compered to the Herbert.

i don't like the aggressive typical deathmetal sound i'm more into the big smooth sound when it comes to the metal rhythm sound if that makes any sense :P

but thanx for the quick reply!

I have an Einstein and a Vh4, and the Vh4 is more Mid heavy.....so if you're after that "big scooped modern" tone, check the Herbert. The Vh4 is VERY middy. Love it!

smoothest leads imo are in herbert ch 3 and einstein ch 2

Is the VH4 more versital than the Herbert if you intend to play other genres than Metal? (i will play metal also but i want the opportunity to play other genres also.)

can i get the tone that Amplifier has? with the VH4? (the band)

i grew up playing country and for what its worth i dog herbie for cleans as well

peace

o.k., this won't really help you, but ANY of the Diezels will do everything you mentioned in the first post. this really comes up to personal taste only which of the Diezels suits you better.

imho they are also all equally versatile, despite Einsteins lack of midi. if midi is your thing you would have to go with either Herbert or the VH4.

IMO.....All of the Diezel amps can get you what you are looking for. There are some areas that shine in some amps more then others. Based on what you are desiring, I feel the Herbert would work best for you and easiest for you. The VH4 would be a great amp due to the versatility it provides. All the Diezel amps have great gain and wonderful clean tones. It comes down to what is most important to you. My thoughts would be Herbert, VH4, Einstein 100 in that order. The VH4 is a very very close second IMO for your needs behind the Herbert. All of what I am saying is based off a dry amp signal, no boosting, just pure amp tones. If you decided to throw pedals in the mix etc. to acquire certain tones then I am leaning towards the VH4 as the primary choice. I hope this helps :)

Good Luck

Thanx Duolos, I was thinking i'd build up a nice pedal board to use with the amp.
some delay, wah, boost, flange etc..
so i guess my choice will come to VH4 unless i get a nice deal on Herbert ^^,

Where is the best place to get a VH4? i wouldn't mind buying a used one.
there are only one place in Norway but god the prices in Norway are so Extreme <.<,
maybe i'll try to get a used one from Germany or something.

thanks for the help guys!

u know i think its all in who is playing it and dialing it in, its an old arguement over which is most versatile. with that said i find herbie more versatile too, i really love the cleans in herbert.

in my opinion it's like with girls :P
do you like and go for one who catch your attenction or do you go for the one all the ppl suggest her to you?

make your own decision

more seriously, get both herbert or vh4 with no problems

if you chose one.... you will be satisfied, with the other ... more and more :)

you couldn't fail with Diezel amps ;)

i'd say Herbert though

With all due respect Herbert is far more versatile than VH4.
