great man!

that first tune sorta reminded me of old satriani for some reason, but better.

i remember seeing andy on the floor of the NAMM show back in like 87, demoing for kramer or peavey...i stood and watched him for a solid half hour because he was so good. even back then he had something the shrapnel crowd didn't have. soul.

Wow, that would have been cool to see!
What kind of gear he was he using back then?
Some kind of custom Floyded Ibanez, I guess?

this was before the ibanez deal i think...i wanna say he was playing a hockey stick kramer...maybe hardcore timmons fans would know...he was such a cool guy...all smiles and just KILLING as people waltzed by on the NAMM floor

Not hardcore fan until recently.. but yep - he was Kramer endorsee back in the day. Pretty sure in the old ads it was a stagemaster, or possibly it was a Pacer?

From an interview with him:
GD: You're an endorsee for Ibanez. Can you tell us a little bit about the guitar you are endorsing?
AT: My relationship with Ibanez started in about 1991. When I first joined Danger Danger in '89, I was a Kramer endorsee. They made a nice guitar for me and I was actually playing their Kramer Sustainer guitar. But as you know, Kramer soon went out of business. After that I was in a great position as far as a guitar player goes because Danger Danger was doing well here in the states and actually I guess around the world. We had a couple of number one videos around that time on MTV and so any guitar manufacturer at that point would love to have you playing their guitar!

That's right, I totally forgot about that!
I just found an old ad fro 1990 showing that he endorsed the Peavey Rockmaster preamp as well.
I've still never tried one of those.

I saw him do a clinic at a small music store by Ohio States campus back in 1993 I think and I was floored. Then he was using Ibanez with pickguards and an MP-1.
