Complete new to these forums, I seem to have missed the boat on this 'E2' everyone is talking about. From what I can gather it's a smaller M4 but with space for 2 modules instead of 4.

Can I get confirmation on that?
Can I assume that it will only be 1 rack space?
When is it due to be out?
How much will it cost?

I'm planning out modules for my future purchase (If the E2 is not what I think I'll just get an M4)
I play any and all things progressive. I just need some things cleared up.

Can the VX module get me: sparkly cleans, and a classic crunch sound that will also be good for open chords like Alex Lifeson?

And which High-Gain module is for me? I'm really tied with this one. I'm hearing great things about the EG5, but from clips etc. It seems to be treble/high-mid emphasized, can it be EQ'd for more bass response? I'm looking for a Dream Theater heavy sound, so the ERECT would make sense too wouldn't it?

Thanks in advance! :D

1) Yes, like M4 but 2 module slots
2) Yes, 1 rack space
3) Spring / Summer is the best guess
4) No price yet announced

Vx has little headroom so if you want CLEAN (you mention petrucci whos clean sound is PRISTINE), it wont do it for you. Youd probably want a T/D. Vx is chimey, but not very "clean" if you have hot pickups.

For overdrive, E-Rect is a good choice for Petrucci. If you want slightly different flavor EG5 is awesome, but not very Mesa sounding. EG5 has tons of tight bass.

Thanks, I'm not exactly looking for Petrucci's tone, just something in that area. You know, heavy, but defined.

Then either EG5 or E-Rect will be the one. EG5 is more Soldano, E-Rect is more Mesa.
