hmm interesting, someone (a teacher) told me about this micin' technique and I was a bit dubious about it (you'd think it'd be extremely bass heavy and unclear........ but that sounds awesome

So far bridge only, but the neck is in the mail

Painkiller went into my les paul & while I had just a little time testing it for recording it sounded freaking HUGE! which I didn't expect at all, because it wasn't that big sounding in the room.

I also have a mid gain pickup for rock/blues & another neck pickup coming. Don't even remember the names, they are so weird.

Will be ordering one more set as soon as I decide whether it's gonna be in the horizon or the mII. So I'd be interested in your thoughts. So far the nailbomb is my favorite pickup, I find it very versatile, transparent & sweet sounding. I have to tell you that I was really skeptical if these pickups would make much difference, but I called to order more as soon as I tried them. My tech couldn't stop saying "THAT pickup" The nailbomb made his Orange howl like a wolf.

Nailbomb is Alnico IV so its warmer to some people and has alot more highs mids with a good amount of output 16.k, Cold sweat is 14k Ceramic, Very thick sounding and also the most amazingly clear pickup i have every heard its tight but not super compressed(tighter than a nailbomb though), Think of the best mixture of Vintage and modern.
Cold sweats are very transparents so it lets the guitar do alot of the talking.
