I love my Herbert, but I would like to add some reverb and chorus to the signal in the parallel effects loop to dress up my lead playing, clean picking, etc.

I'm considering the Lexicon MX300. It's $299 and gives a lot of routing options. For example, I can split the Herbert effects send signal to feed both L and R inputs on the Lexicon, return 100% wet back to the Parallel return on the Herbert, and use the other Lexicon output to send a mixed signal to one of the inputs on my VHT 2-50-2 power amp to run a second cab in stereo.

My question is this: Should I set my sights on a higher quality reverb/chorus unit to match the quality of the Herbert, or is the MX300 a reasonable choice for this application?

Thanks!
Paul

Even the cheaper Lexicon stuff sounds awesome, esp. for reverb.
The question is: when swithing patches does the unit produce drop-outs or is it fast enough?
Not all Lexicon units are . . .
