I see others are posting extensive reviews of the amp, so I'm going to keep this one simple.

I was at GC yesterday and had the chance to try one out in their little "private" room. It was hooked up to 2 TM 4x12 cab.

Bottom line: I really like it.

I was already expecting to like the dirty channel and I ended up liking it even more than I expected. It has much more gain on top than the Rebel. Now the real test was the clean channel. I'm spoiled, I have a Mesa Lonestar which sounds like arse in the dirty channel but sounds incredible clean.

I can say I really, really liked the clean channel. I can't say it's necessarily better than the LS, because that would just be up for opinion. But, I can say it's up to par at least. And that's great news because it means the amps much more versatile, because both channels are great.

The reverb was good too although I still prefer the sound of a spring. I also liked the boosting knobs that work in conjunction with the footswitch.

man, with each of these "review" threads that pop up my GAS grows exponentially! (hell and I already bought the amp!!)

Haha! Hey Joey, yesterday, while at GC, I saw a video with John Mayer (apparently recorded the same day that photo avatar of your was taken).

Honestly, I'm not too familiar with him. So, when I first saw the vid I wasn't sure who it was, but I recognized him from your avatar. I quickly pulled out my iphone, fired Shazam, and it told me who it was, what song he was playing and where to buy it. Freakin' technology!

hhehe nice!

I'm heavily into his music.

btw man, your comparison between the LS and the Reneg. really makes me happy I went with the renegade. I've had Lonestar gas for a while now but being in Europe Mesas are just too expensive, but I love the LS cleans. And since you say the Reneg. has awesome cleans (which I though so based on youtube clips) makes me very happy.

I'm 60% of the time in the clean channel playing poprock and blues

Well, that's def great news for you!

I spend 50/50 on cleans and dirt. So that's why I'm running 2 amps at the moment. The LS and a Rebel. It'd be nice to carry just one though!

I'm curious if the new Rebel 30 can do the same as the Renegade. (Same nice cleans, and same nice dirt in a smaller package.)

The Renegade is one hell of an amp....I think Bruce and Jeff know this as well, because they offer it in a Head, 1/12, 2/12, and 4/10 combos...Thry truly hit this one out of the Ballpark

I tried the Renegade quickly the other day. I liked the 1 X 12 combo, but I didn't think it outdid the Tourmaster combo- Which was relief, trust me!

I also tried the head through a Tourmaster 2 X 12 cab. THAT was fabulous! Particularly the distortions. I have always been a combo guy, but this had me thinking!

:D  :scared: :inlove: :loco:

Heads for me. I like the look. Just like I prefer the look of a straight 412 rather than a slanted 412. Just opinons.
