ABM Tune O Matics... who has tried them?

Haven’t tried them but I’ll say I use TonePro exclusively on all of my Les Paul customs. They sound great, look great, they don’t decrease the appraised value, are well known, and are respected as aftermarket replacements.

Consider the acoustic properties of your electric guitar first. What direction would you like to take it? SS should provide a harder more articulate response. Brass will be warmer and more vintage with more delicate harmonics as it’s quite a bit softer than SS.

I use ABM on my self build guitars. So far I had an Tele bridge all brass and an strat style tremolo. A rollerbridge is going on the next one.
In Germany, they are the highest build quality parts you can find and have a superb reputation.

On my tele, I changed the brass saddles with steel from another manufacturer. Steel had extended highs and deeper, but not more, lows as well as more attack. Went back to brass as it had nicer and fuller overtones and already is bright, but more like high mids bright.
It is the nicest sounding guitar I have.

You can even get brass saddles but keep the rest of the bridge in steel or vice versa. Just ask them.

Awesome, thank you dudes!
The guitar is very fat-sounding acoustically, so I might want to go for a bit more crispness. Think steel might be the ticket!

I have one on a Les Paul Custom, works well, sounds good, no problems other than the price.

Just FYI the ABM bell brass bridges sound quite different to your average brass bridge. I put one on a guitar and it added a ton of volume and brightness (upper midrange really) where other brass bridges tend to give a big chunky tone with lessened zingy harmonics.

That echoes other accounts of the ABM bridges I've read about. And it's not necessarily good or bad, just depends on the guitar it's going on.
