I would like to know what channel volume settings you guys prefer?! No matter which Diezel amp. And please tell me the sounddifference you notice.

i change channel volume often - as i tend to like the volume get controlled by channel vol. and not by master (i like the master always to be cranked a little bit, for the extra OOOOOMPPPH ) - but its mostly around 11:00.
when i do it otherwise, crank channel vol. and lower master, there is more compression and i get feedback problems sometimes.

I feel the ch. volume sounds best between 1:00 and 3:00 o'clock. It's the fattest it sounds.
but between 11:00 and 3:00 is also acceptable and sounds great.
while at home I play with the master at 8:30 and ch. volume at 9:00 or 10:00

Normally around noon. Best control over volume/compression IMO
.
Except the 50s Einstein, there the channel volumes need to be a bit higher - 2 o'clock or so.

I noticed that too you guys wrote. But i never noticed that with marshall.
I surfed youtube a little bit and saw some vids with splawn amps. They have similar sounds as cameron amps in the vids. I don´t know how they live sound. But the sound was very nice! Nice distortion! Then i went to the Splawn site and took a look at their soundclips. Nice clips too!
Underneath the clips are some ampsettings. The amps have higher gain settings and lower ch.vol. settings. Vol at 8:30 Gain at 3:00. I tried it with my Herbert.
Don´t ask why i´ve neer tried before?! My ch.vol. are at noon. But i tried it with the lower and there was this nice, sweet distortion! WOW!
But I figured out, that there is less compression and less dynamics. Just like Düsi said.
I think i´ll use the lower ch.vol. for recording distorted sounds. It sounds very sweet to my ears!

It is somehow part of Peter's building philosophy to tweak the circuit so that the pots (except master) should be around noon - and thats different to other amps, esp those from "typical Marshall modders" (I don't mean that negative in any way). The "noon philosophy" has the advantage that you don't need (think older Boogies) a huge chart with settings, but just a few words to describe how to get the best results: noon - and start from there.
Of course there are situations where a higher master and a lower channel volume can "fresh up" things if thats desired - or vice versa.

Olaf, I cannot have the bass controls and the deep BOTH around noon.....it's just too much bass.......

for leads i like channel volume high like 2:00 on ch 3, i dig the compression thing it does. it makes my notes pop right off the fretboard. i feel like i can get away with murder on that thing

I find that keeping the Master at noon, then using the channel volume sounds the best.

Yea Ive been keeping all my Ch volumes at around 2:30 with Master vol 1 at 10 and Master 2 at 11/11:30ish. Me likey 
I only use my Herbert live. I wish i could bring my big old rig home with me but i just cant
But so far ive been getting simply amazing tone live. And agree with Andy that the notes DO just "pop off the fretboard".
...but i honestly dont notice a huge difference between channel volumes vs master. But maybe thats bc ive found the sweet spot..
