I'm getting a Martin acoustic that doesn't have built in electronics and looking to get a pickup that can just go in the soundhole, is passive and sounds great. Wondering if any acoustic players can recommend something?

Dimarzio Black Angel is a solid choice IME. I know Dimarzio doesn't inspire thoughts of killer acoustic tones but it is among the better soundhole pickups that have passed through this house, and that means many, because my wife has had most of them.

Hey man, you and Fek were right. Got the Black Angel put in today and sounds great!

I've been looking at an active option, the Mojotone NC-1. Seems to be a great option as well.

I haven't tried or heard that one. I can tell you the Fishman active soundhole pickups were pretty dang good. I thought the single coil model was slightly better but they only produce the humbucking model now, which is probably better for gigs anyhow.
