hey guys i know if i want to adjust a floyd for a compound radius neck i need to but some shims at the floyd saddle. do you think i will need a nut shim if this is done? let me know.

You should not need nut or saddle shims. Jackson USA models have a 12-16" compound radius neck and most have Floyds. You should be good to go as-is.

Buy the right radius and width nut, you want a 12". Shim the nut for string height. A new OFR will have a shim plate under the center saddles, remove it to get your flatter radius.
You may have to shim the outer two saddles a very little bit to tweak it perfect to the neck. Use a radius gauge at the end of the neck and start by matching that radius at the bridge.

Here's the thing. Floyd Rose may say that their floyds are x radius, but they rarely are. Until you put a radius gauge on the things, you'll never know for sure what it is. For a 16'' radius, you'll most likely need to shim the bridge a tad to get it to that radius. For the 12'' at the nut, you'll most likely be fine with any off-the-shelf nut. The difference between 10'' and 12'' is minimal, and Floyd's tolerances suck. Tom Anderson has no issues with stock nuts on his 12''-14'' compound radius'd necks.

can anyone verify if this is true. i guess my floyd is of the ping variety because the saddles are beveled. this is what i found online

Table I (.2mm factory shims)
Fingerboard Radius (at bridge) / E strings # shims / A and B strings # shims
10" / 0 / 0
12" / 1 / 0
14" / 2 / 1
16" / 2 / 1
18" / 3 / 1

warmoth suggest using 18" radius for adding shims because its closer to 18" than 16" the closer you get to the bridge. I dont believe their are any shims installed on my ping floyd, or whatever came with my usa charvel. so i guess i would add 3 shims on both e strings and 1 shim under the a and b string? is this correct?

You have to actually get radius gauges on it and measure. Not all of the bridges are the same. It's a decent starting point, but it's not 100% accurate.
