Hi everyone, I just bought a new Vh4 and it should be here in a few days :)) and I am really excited!

anyways, I am hoping someone here may tell me if they have used their Vh4 in conjunction with a Palmer speaker load box. The palmer is rated for 100w so I am wondering if its ok to use as long as the head is at lower volumes ? or should I just pick up a hotplate, weber mass.

also does anyone know what the wattage is based on what tubes are used?

Diezel does not recommend power soaks. You should be fine just adjusting the Master Volume higher and Channel volumes lower.

+1

If it's a new V, then it'll be loaded with 6550s which means it'll be tapping out a clean and smooth 120W or thereabouts. Bearing mind we're nearing the 1pm mark on the MV with the other volume near-dimed before you'll start to get the V into natural overdrive. Once this natural OD is reached, your output will be nearing its maximum.

Loads and attenuators are not recommended, Herr Diezel himself will say this. Get a cabinet, crank that bitch, and revel in all its sonic glory  Remember, that's why ya got it in the 1st place!

I've used LBs (Koch, Palmer, Marshall SE-100) in the past (and still do every now and then) with all my Diezels and recorded this way. What Peter means is that you shouldn't crank the amp (say master above 5), then you could kill the LB and/or the output transformer.
As long as you keep your master levels between 0 and 4 its ok, should be 0 to 30 Watts (still loud on stage).

You can see on the PGA04 how many watts the amp pushes out . . . ;)

I have a pdi-03 . wish it had the meter.

Thanks for the help

I am using mine with Koch LoadBox II (from time to time) , 120W rated with no problems whatsoever. Einstein 100W head here.

Master volume, at least on Einstein works very very well. However, nothing can replace the 1:00 o'clock Master Volume sound breathing fire through 4x12".
