After 3-4 back to back gigs of using the mandatory house backline (i.e. distortion pedal into a crapola amp)... tonight, FINALLY, we're allowed to use our own heads!

You know what that means... DUAL EGNATER ONSLAUGHT!!!!

I think Matt is gonna rock the BMAN and SL2X, and I'm going to use the BMAN and tweaked EG34 for some contrast.

I feel like a whole person again.

Man.. I don't think I could ever be forced to gig without MY rig.
Have fun with yours tonight!!! I lost my Wednesday gig.

I feel your pain and your joy Nick.

Last weekend I had to play a show through rented backline. A little Line 6 spider. Such a let down tone wise. Sunday, played through my Egnater rig again. I couldn't have been happier.

Enjoy the Egnater-powered gig. I'm sure you will have a little extra juice for that show.

Sorry I couldn't make it Nick. Let us know how it goes and how Jaded Faith sounds too.

What power tubes did you go with?

You know, I have never heard of this! I have had to use house PA's before, but usually they were better than what we had. I have never heard of being forced to use house amps. I don't think I would do a gig that required that- could be very detrimental.

On another topic: I am having some weird power problem with that new pedal board. Works great at home- but at two different gigs at two different places the Eventide Modfactor is just not getting enough power in. I don't know why; It's odd that two different places would do this. I assume that bars have the same basic electrical power as my home. Maybe it is affected by lights, game machines, juke boxes, etc...

I am thinking of dumping one or both of the PP2+'s and just going with the wall warts supplied with the effects into a good plug track. Any thoughts on that?

ENJOY YOUR AMPS TONIGHT! I am also playing tonight- I WILL ENJOY MINE IN YOUR HONOR!

:aww: :scared:   :2thumbsup: :worship: :emofag: :grim:   :salute:

You'd be suprised. We come across a lot of situations where you have to use the backline that's there.

NYC gigs, for sure.

Cover gigs, where you're opening for a bigger cover band. They have their stuff set up HOURS before you even get there, and you're not even allowed to adjust the drums/cymbals. Which is SO lame.

These battle of the band gigs, where they have to get the bands on and off QUICK. Again, mandatory use of provided backline.

It's a major tone-fail, for sure.

Just the more reason to get one of those SKB type rack / pedalboards...throw an M4 in there, and just have an out to plug into the return of whatever head you are using!! :)

Rich, its a shame you couldnt make it. Would have liked to meet you! But Rob told me you live pretty far away (I know KoP well. I went to school at Villanova which is close) so its pretty understandable.

We felt like we played a great show and Jaded Faith also played an absolute monster set! We are going to try to put a show together with them. Its so refreshing when you have a band with alot of talent, but are also SUPER nice people. We really like those guys (and gal). They had a great crowd on hand too. It really was just a special night all around. We all felt like rock stars!

Sucks I missed it. When do you learn the winner????

What were you and Nick running for power tubes? Nick and I have been talking a lot about this lately.

Matt keeps TS 5881s in his pants, never leaves home without them

i've been forced into backlines before.. thats why I can't wait for the e2 to come out!

I think we are both running 5881s. Im always running TS 5881. I think Nick is as well, but he may have gone back to the dark side. Im not sure.

The band that won is called Scarlet Carson. We found out at the end of the night.

They were running JCM900s or some equally awful modern marshall garbage.

Proof that amazing tone, alone, can't win a contest.

You need bad tone, a jersey meathead haircut, and an affliction T shirt. Oh well.
