Alder vs Black Limba vid (Suhr's used)

I think I liked the second one better. But I was mostly distracted by them blaze'n fingers o' fury.

Nice playing, man. Jeez.
 
For me its easy. If i'm going for Fender tones the blue one. If wanting a thicker tone such as a Les Paul its the orange. Very different in tone.

Haha it is interesting, dude.

Always like watching your vids. Inspired me to finally post some of my own. They pale in comparison, but I hope to improve.

It's crazy that you can have two guitars of the same style that cover so much ground with wood selection.
 
They both sound great but yeah, very different. Sizzling playing all around dude.
 
Orange one for sure for me as well, awesome tone! You need to get a good Les Paul, would sound great with you playing it thru that amp.
 
Had a custom shop LP years ago. To clunky feeling for me. The look cool and sound great. Just dont enjoy playing them

Yeah I just started playing them about 4 years ago after playing strats since 1985. I felt the exact same way and leads were most difficult...It sounded so good though and better than any strats I had then so I just stuck with it and made myself play it (forced myself) and within a month or 2 I was sold and now use them 90% of the time.
 
I'm guessing the different pickups and tuning would probably account for more of the differences in tone than the body wood.
 
Of course thats part of it but I doubt all of the difference
 
I don't know if it's because it's tuned lower but the Orange one does sound better. Tune them the same then make another video.
 
Different fboards,diffrent bridges,diffrent tunings and diffrent pickups...

And some of you still think that after THIS comparison the orange or the blue one or the red one slys the purple,or the red,or the pink....
 
I like the look of the blue one better but the sound of the orange one
