I think I have a suspect tube or two in the pre section....'81 2204 Aldrich with tube buffered loop...Amazing amp...So, here is the interesting thing...I tried swapping a few tubes from another amp in to find a bad tube and realized that V3 PI socket is real finicky about what it likes....Tried a JJ ECC83s and it spit the bit...Sounded like shite...The current tube has no identification on it, but I figure it is a 12AX7 of some sort....Any ideas on what to throw in V1, V2, and V3 and the loop tube?

On the power tube side, Mark did a pretty cool bias range mod that has three postions to go from standard EL34 range to Hot EL34/Cold 6550 to 6550....This is a special amp to me and I want to treat it right....Let me hear from you....
Another interesting tidbit...modded in January '05...Mark put a Shiva output transformer in it...It really is special....
