All gone: VHT 2150, CAE 3+, Bogner Fish, Demeter TGP, Matchless GPR

Update: drop for last item 3+SE 2300 shipped.

Well all, I am looking to build a guest house with a ground up studio build so I need to clear up some funds. Up for sale is an insane collection of gear. I am not the original owner of these, but I have kept these racked with plastic under the screws to get rid of rack rash. Each unit will be packed ready to survive being tossed out of a plane. Prices are PP f/f. The VHT, buyer pays shipping because it is a fucking tank. The other units, shipping is included. Add fees if using business. Paypal's business transactions have been holding my funds for weeks despite numerous high end deals and I am just fed up with them. If anyone wants additional pictures or has any questions just let me know. If you want the whole thing we can make a deal.

I'll apologize in advance if this violates rules and need separate postings:

  1. VHT 2150, black, great+ condition cosmetically. 2,850 (SOLD)
  2. Bogner Fish with Cantrell Mod - This is a reissue version of the preamp. It started out life as a euro version, I sent it to Bogner in 2020 and he converted the transformer to US spec, and Reinhold himself did the Cantrell mod to it (which he said he had not performed in over 10 years). He also installed a NOS faceplate so it is minty mint on that panel. Sold Local.
  3. CAE 3+se: Stealing this description from the cool rig-talker (who sold it to me:) "The unit was modded by Bruno at BD Guitars Service in France with the following common mods: Black Face, Cross Talk, Voltage Mod, Transformer and Heater Regulator." Cosmetically it is fair, it is in the worst condition of the preamps, but not bad condition. It has some rack rash, scratches on top and bottom of the unit, and a very slightly bowed rack ear (racks fine). 2,750
  4. Demeter TGP-3: A rare beast, supposedly only around 30 in the world (unsure if I fully believe that), but this one was part of a special limited order run and it is dead mint. Deleo spec. - 2750 (SOLD)
  5. Matchless GRP: I think there are only 25? of these out there. I have emails with Matchless about the unit if interested. This one has a serial directly adjacent to Billy Corgan's he used on Machina. It is in excellent shape. It has some very light swirl marks from polishing (which is to be expected with a mirrored finish). I have this one with my tech just for routine maintenance right now (nothing wrong with it, I am just a psycho with my gear). - 4,000 (SOLD)
  6. ADA MP-1: They sound great, this one is with my tech having one of the output jacks replaced. Nothing major, works great. - 450 (Sold)

That Bogner fish can’t be the right price even for a reissue. I’d suspected at least 4500 mint condition and Cantrell modded. I haven’t seen one for sale on the forum in at least 6 years.

Surprised the VHT is still for sale, figured it or the Bogner fish would be the first to go in minutes 🤷‍♂️😂

I'm totally shocked. Ill gouge everyone on reverb when I post these later. Figured I would give the peeps here a chance to snag some cool stuff. I've only ever seen 2 other Matchless preamp for sale ever on earth in 10 years lol.
 
Very nice collection ! I'd snag the GPR and TGP-3 right there if I had fun money burning my pocket... :whistle:

It's funny because I think of them as soooo fucking different in my head, but they both have a darker voicing and a lot of thickness. The fish is definitely more aggressive in the voicing and the Demeter is thick as syrup.
