Stopped off at Reinhold's magic elf wherehouse today to drop off the amp he let me borrow.
They were very very busy packing up the truck with stuff and getting ready for NAMM.
You wanna know about the purple people eater?
IF the amp I was given was certainly the Purple Mod, (it was made special for a certain famous band), it was definitely different on ch.1 for sure.
It was much more open, much much louder (so much so, it was really intense), and had more bass and just more of everything.
Definitely very cool, and (if you have seen the latest video I posted in the clips section) it cuts very strongly. but then so does the regular TJ.
I probably going to get it done to mine, but I'm going to have mine customized even more, as I thought the bass huge, but not as tight as the stock one I have, which I consider pretty tight, actually, on the low end. At least I think so. so hard to tell...I played it at home through the Bogner Uberkab i just got, and also live in the studio through a V30 Marshall cab. (in the video). I'm still getting used to the cab, but it's really beefy sounding.
I'll deal with it, and talk with Mr. Bogner about it AFTER he is all done with Namm and such. It's a major thing for them right now, obviously. I talked to him very briefly, as he was very busy today.
whatever I get done tho...I'm going to see if we can call it the Evil Mod, since I want it to be much more EVIL! hehe...(it shouldn't take much...).
If your thinking of doing it, be prepared for more volume than is necessary for anyone. ever.
You WILL be asked to Turn It Down by your bandmates. I know I was. And my new method of dialing things in...except for gain, everything else pretty close to noon.
I'd say go for it. it definitely was more full and huge sounding. and louder.
Or wait. and See what Evil I can unleash! should be fun!
