I'm in love with this little guy... the clean channel is good it kicks my ass everytime I play it, but turn the gain full on and I'm in blues heaven with my strats! :inlove:

Channel two is amazingly versatile with the tight/bright switches, I can go from a nice modern gain to a great vintage loose tone.

So, knowing this amp REALLY suits me... I'm not wondering what's the next step in getting my full on Egnater rig.

My question is....how different will the T/D sound compared to my Renegade? what's the difference between them (other thatn the Renegade sounds like a Bman) ?

I'm 100% sure I'm going with a COD so I need to pick another clean tone

Hey man,

I wouldn't think twice... Vx. I just traded a BMan for a Deluxe module, and I like it alot (I played Fender before Egnater). But the Vx clips that Jeff posted are just really that good to me... i into the same relative style of music as you. I'm ready for an E2 with Vx and COD, unless they surprise us with something at NAMM.

I'm right there with ya! I'm loving my Renegade, and already planning my E2 modules. Right now, I'm going back and forth between TAD 6L6WGCs and TS5881s for using on Ch 1, which gives me a more BMAN-ish vibe than big bottle 6L6s, and I've got KT66s in to use on Ch2, for more of a SL-vibe. So, for the E2, I'm definitely going with VX. Not sure about the other module, but I'm leaning toward the EG5.

I'm not much into vox cleans......

I'd rather have a NICE fender clean.

But again that's why I asked...... how dif. are the T/D module and the Renegade's clean channel ? maybe a Vox will be a nice addition if those two are indeed pretty alike

I think you can get Ch1 on the Renegade to sound "close" to the T side of the T/D. If you want more of a Deluxe type sound, maybe go with a D/D. It supposedly gets more Deluxe-ish than the T/D even. If you want more of a Twin type sound, I think the Renegade Ch1 can get pretty close - guess it just depends on how close you want to get. With TS5881s or TAD 6L6WGCs, I think the Renegade Ch1 gets pretty close to the BMAN-type sound. With 6L6GCs, I think it is more like Ch A of the T/D. Again, not exactly the same, but generally close.

I've never tried the T/D. But I've owned a real Deluxe and a Reissue Twin. The D/D is faithful to the Deluxe. The best way I would describe it is "tighter" than the BMan clean.

FWIW, I loved my deluxe, never really bonded with the Twin RI.

Chris, glad your diggin it man!!!!It really does sound great, better than T/D I think

Sorry for the Hijack..........I've got a lovely D/D for sale.........  It is a great module for those clean and O/D tones......only $295.

As discussed before, the T/D is great, but seems like if you EQ one side to sound really good, the other side suffers a bit.

Can you bias your own tubes in the Renegade just like the Mod series?

Yup. Test points and adjustment for each set of tubes right on the back. EZ. And with the Tube Mix, it makes it really easy to A/B tubes. A couple of nights ago, I had TAD 6L6WGC in one side and TS5881 in the other and was A/B them on the clean channel. It's pretty cool to hear the subtle (and sometimes not so subtle) differences the power tubes make.
