Just came home from Alter Bridge.
They kicked ass.
Mark Rig consists of 6 Amps. 2 Fender, a Mesa,a PRS amp, an Voodoo Amp and another i couldn´t read.
Myles was really simple. 2 Herbert and 2 Diezel Cabs. And his sound was awesome.
Also the Bass was huge sounding.Sadowsky Basses and Ashdown amps and cabs.
The new songs are really good live.

Isn't one of his Herberts only a backup?

(Backup for a Diezel... LOL)

I think but i´m not sure.
Interesting was that one of the amp was on 1st channel and for solo he activated Master2.
Unfortunately i couldn´t see everything.

Wasn't Miles using a mark iv forever with his Herbert?

Doesn't Tremonti use Bogner's too? XTC or Uberschall? He's a gear hound though, maybe switches things around a lot.

Glad to hear the Diezel Herbert bringing it in a two guitar band.
Many have remarked that Herbert can't "cut it" in a two guitar situation.
I never understood that. I have been using Herbert for years in a two guitar situation and there has never been a "can't cut through the mix" issue for me. Only a "holy sh*t, that sounds amazing."

Anyway, sounds like Alter Bridge is a good show to see live.
Congrats on getting your chance. I am still waiting on mine :gethim:

He used to play stereo....Mesa Mark IV and Herbert.
Tremonti is a truly gear addict.Well it was what he used yesterday.
Funny thing is that Myles sound was better....fuller..meaner if you know.and always present.
By the way....it was my third time seeing them.
Also great setlist.Metalingus,Blackbird,i know it hurts, addicted to pain, isolation just to name a few

There is a newer vid with Myles rig. He said he is only playing the Herbert. No more two different amps.

Just watched some vids from the wembley gig.
Man these little Herbert led shines so bright! Even when the big lights are on you can recognize the Amp. That's unreal!

Every time I've seen them play, Mark's mega rig just sounds like a kid playing a metalzone through the insane channel of a Line 6. Pure distortion with no real tone that just disappears in the mix, polar opposite from his tone when I saw his solo project in Chi-town. A Mesa Stiletto and a Rev 2 Uber through the same mesa cab, and it cut a million times better than his AB tone!

I don't belong in this topic. But, is it just me, or does Myles get more props for his tone?

My Herbert never sound this way. I can't even get him to sound like this!?
How can he get his one? Don't get me wrong because sometimes I wish mine would sound more fizzy.

but he's talking about mark tremonti.. not myles.. mark uses rectos, bogners etc. and i totally agree, that I like the tone myles gets a lot more.. Tremonti's sound is usually nasty thin and painful whenever I watch some YT videos from a live show..

Mark uses a Herbert while Mark's rhythm tone is a mixed Triple Rectifier Red Channel with a Bogner Ueberschall. Got that info directly in Sep. 2013.

I've recently heard that they also use Hagen in addition of Herbert...
Looking foreward to hear them using all the Diezel brand amps
