Back in the day this was badass!! JCM800 really

Spreading The Disease is my favorite, too - great songs throughout but Lone Justice and Medusa...those two I just love. I also really dug Among way back when and it is a great album and forever will hold some awesome memories, just as a whole the songs on Spreading are the pinnacle for Anthrax for me.Spreading The Disease is the top for me.
Unbelievable it’s a JCM800 but that’s what I’ve been told lol
The gain yeah, but the tightness is very un-Marshally even with outboard EQ.6550’s I think and of course heavily boosted. 800’s get that gain easy when you kick ‘em in the front and dump your mids. But wouldn’t surprise me if there wasn’t an outboard EQ involved in the studio. Aphex or Furman.

It is confirmed 800's? I'm wondering if there's some MarkII or III in there, sure as hell sounds like it.
Probably used pre pre preproduction one
That sounds about right. When I met him about two years ago, he said that he has been using a JB, all the way back. That guy is the palm mute king. When you hear S.O.D. songs, that chug he gets is just so good and same for the Anthrax stuff.Huge anthrax fan. ATL is a great guitar tone. Scott has always said it was a 800 a tc preamp and his old soloist with a jb
