The sound he has on there sounds pretty good. He is definately my least favorite guitar player along with Tracy G for Dio. Although I give him props for not butchering Vivian"s solos as Tracy G did. I caught Dio on a Maiden tour a couple of years back. Craig just came in right after Aldrich left for WS. He tore it up on the solos, but is sound was awful. One of the worst guitar sounds I ever heard live, was that night.

Wow nice story!

What year was the Dio and Maiden tour??

I LOVE viv and i was hesitatint about the scared heart tour DVD... BUT.. after watching Craig Goldy was on fire in the DVD :worship:

Oh yeah.. GREAT sound also (my opinion)

I think it could have been 2004. I am not sure.I know it was a little after Dio released the Evil or Devine dvd.
It was Motorhead, Dio and then Iron Maiden. I know that night I was telling my friend about how good doug Aldrich's sound was. When Dio came on I was"WFT" It took me about two songs into their set before I knew it was Craig Goldy. Actually, now that I think about it, the whole band sound bad. They were tight, just not very well balanced. Their sound was very low aswell. I could talk to people five rows below without having to raise my voice.

yeah on the end of the DVD in question, has a interview with Dio and Goldy.

Dio says that the tour went on for 2 years and that Viv did the first half then split, craig had to come in and fill some big shoes

so.... anyone know what amp Goldy was using
