Hey guys, been a psychotically happy Torpedo Live owner for a few months now - just awesome and it's been such a fantastic tool for recording!

I can't remember reading about this or not but apologies in advance if it's been covered!

So currently I'm running the TL and my amp in a loop of my Switchblade GL (line output to SB etc) which works great, but I would love if I was able to choose wether I'm using the amp input or the line input on the fly. So I guess the question is: is it possible to have both inputs connected and have the TL choose what's used at a software level? Say I wanted to use my amp for one part of a song, then switch to a pedal/power amp patch for another part. Obviously the amp would need to stay loaded! Is this a possibility with a firmware update? Would make it an even more flexible beast!

Either way, I'm totally stoked with it. Just oozes quality, can't talk it up enough!

Thank you UbangiWrangler for the kind words, it's always appreciated, especially from users who take the time to fully explore the possibilities of our products. ;)

What you want to do is possible in VB-101, but not with the Torpedo Live: the Line input will cut the amp input signal as soon as you insert a jack in it.

Therefore you have to disconnect the jack in Line input to get the signal from the loadbox.

Hi.
Sorry to join in, but does it mean that, as instance, I cannot connect a MP3 player (playing a backing track) to the Line input of the TL, and play along with my amp connected to the Loadbox on the TL , and put the headphones on at 2am in the morning ???

I am afraid that according what you say, this is not possible. To do so, I must connect TL to my DI / Computer where the BT plays, and put then put the headphones on.

Please correct me if I am wrong.
Thanks.

No you are right, the Line input is designed to receive a guitar/bass preamplifier as a source, therefore you can only have one source going through the Torpedo Live.

I know there are some amps on the market with CINCH stereo inputs, but that is not something we had in mind.

If you want to play along to a backtrack, you will need a mixer or a computer as a mixer.

Very good point. I frequently perform live with backing tracks. It would be great to have a mix-in in future products. I would like to control and program mix levels myself, rather than relying on the engineer at the venue. Usally there is very little time for soundcheck. This feature would save time and stress.

Well, if we have to embed a mixer inside the Torpedo Live, it's an entirely different product.

I understand the need but I am not sure that is the direction I want the product (pro and prosumer) to go right now.

Well I understand your reasons, and I'll definitely order the TL anyway. However, live use does ask for flexibillity. With your product I can leave my cab at home. If I bring a pedal, I can also leave my head at home. Wouldn't it be great to leave my mixer at home aswell?

I understand maybe TL is not intended this way, but frankly I was surprised that the torpedo cab has no mix in. For example, there are many loop pedals that do have a simple one. It would make sense to me for the CAB.

Just a thought,

cheers Oscar

Be assured that I hear you, and I don't say that we will never have that kind of option. ;)

Thank you for your response, I'm very happy to know that your company makes good efforts to share ideas with customers.

Looking forward to testing the TL!

cheers Oscar

So happy to see that other colleagues might have the same need than me :)

Cher Guillaume, your product is unique, with or without mixer. I will order one for sure.
And the fact that you care about our needs is

I look foreward to see this above mentioned feature in your next products to come out...

Cheers.
