I fired the POD up out of desperation. I don't have an Amp here right now. I did send it for modding and now it didn't move since yesterday, so i have to check at the postal station tomorrow and that sucks. FFS.
Anyway, here's a little Blind Test for you guys. I did not try to make them sound the "same". I just dialed in a sound in the POD for Guitar and Bass, recorded it and then i decided to make a little Blind Test. Shouldn't be difficult for you.

I'm not sure which is which, I've heard bad sounds outta real gear too. But, B sounds much smaller, and congested to me and I like it a lot less. Are the levels for both tracks balanced? In the end I voted for the one I like better.

That's the right choice, no matter what They were approximately the same. I just exported both mixes.

I think A sounded far better. That said I think B is real, it sounds like a bad mic position.

For recording, as much as I hate to admit it, modelers and DIs are SO much easier to land on a good tone than micing a cab which is really it's own skill.

I mean, yes, they're easier because most people don't know how to mic something up

But there's something tangible lost, I think, as good as modelers sound

It's hard to put your finger on it, but it's there

The virtual Rig is a different boost, different amp and a different cab. Standard Mic positions on both. One is angled to the centre of the speaker, the other one straight inside the Dust Cap. Left side of the Mic in Line with the seam.
