AMT Preamp into a Crate Powerblock

I've had this idea for while. Do you guys think there's a way you can get rid of the preamp of a Powerblock and add another preamp, for instance an AMT pedal? It'd awesome to also have a boost and a noisegate integrated. I know this sounds ridiculous given the space limitations with the little amp but I wanted to ask if that's possible. We'd be basically just using the Powerblock as a power amp and the front knobs would control the AMT circuit. If there not enough space for the mod we could just use another very portable amp a Marshall Valvestate, for example, but I'd rather go with the Powerblock.

Do you know someone who can perform this mod?

Yes. You should be able to run whatever preamp into the effects loop return on the Power Block.

Yes, I've already tried that before and it works great. What I was referring is to physically integrate those pedals into the amp. To actually dissect the amp and add the pedal circuits inside.

Oh...well, that's a project. Heh. I'm sure that it's probably possible, although I don't have the skills to make that happen. Would be pretty awesome though.

It might be easier to do if you fashioned a larger chassis for the powerblock. Keep the front and back panels and just make the top taller.

That's a good idea but I have 2 left hands for these projects. I wonder if someone from here would do it.
