Andy Timmons Ibanez Models

Does anyone know the difference & quality between the Andy Timmons AT10P Premium model & the AT100CL model which is Japanese & costs twice as much?

They seem to be the same guitar with the same specs but one is made in Japan & the other in Indonesia.

I've never played a non Japanese Ibanez that was any good, so I would say that's the difference Ibanez has the worst sub $1k guitars IMO. I wouldn't buy a non Prestige/Japanese made model.

Ok, then, pass on the Premium model.

The Japanese one at almost $3000 is too silly a price for an Ibanez so I'm going to replicate it with a Warmoth build & use the same specs.

Isn't the Timmons an updated RT Ibanez? I have an ebay search going for those and they seem to come up every few weeks at well under $1K for a MIJ model. Swap the pickups if you must...

I never understood why those AT guitars are so expensive. Looks like any parts guitar I've seen for $500! I would rather have a Mexi Charvel SoCal for the money.

Unfortunately no one stocks these guitars & they're special order from Japan only. I'd hate to spring $3k for a guitar I've never touched, especially an Ibanez.

I agree. It looks like a strat with Dimarzio PUs & not much else.

Andy makes it sound great, by my guess is that Andy makes anything sound great.

As it happens I tried one some time back. Great great guitar that one. For the price...hell, any price
