yes im Andy, im glad you dig the tones. overall the down from up tones are a bit brighter on record than the amp was in the room, BUT THAT IS HOW THE RECORD WAS MIXED! i want to emphasize that because my tones live are much, much darker. The herbert on the Down From Up was my first herbert. i had him about a year then he just died out of nowhere and i sent him to salwender to try and figure out all of the issues and i ended up with an all new amp. (GREATEST CUSTOMER SUPPORT IN THE WORLD!!!) On the DFU record i think i had sed 6l6's in it (i also tried and loved the jj kt 77s in that amp), but currently im running what was sent in the newest head (which is the head in the live solo youtube vid) and im 90 percent sure the tubes are the sed el 34's. i love the el34's in that head the best, with such a monster power section i dont seem to need the 6l6's in it like i did with my Mark IV. The herberts that are being shipped right now are in my humble opinion the best sounding, most versatile amps on the market. From liquid leads, to crushing rhythms, to bluesy gilmour tones to sparkling cleans, hell the tele country tones are on par with vintage twins! like i said in my opinion i find herbert even more versatile than vh4 and i also enjoy the more low-mid voicing of the amp especially with my beloved anderson guitars. i think the secret to this amp is VERY CONSERVATIVE mid cut settings, i mean like 8:00 to 9:00 o clock on intensity. i find this has far more influence of the voice of the amp than any other part of the controls or tubes. if you have more specific questions i would be glad to help in any way. all clean and lead tones on dfu album are herbert, there is just a touch of splawn quickrod mixed in on the crunch sounds just to give the sound a little more love in the upper mids which led to a HUGE guitar tone on the record. thanks for the kind words and interest

Oh!
What a big Surprise!
Thanks Andy
Another question.
In the Delirium Live video which settings were you using??
I mean Cause its a huge and powerful tone.
Which Anderson guitar were you using.(Which wood: Mahogany?)
And finally which pickups.
...

my settings i used are posted in the other thread regarding the solo from last show. the guitar is my number one anderson drop top. its basswood with maple top, hard rock maple neck with madagascar rosewood fretboard. pickups are h3 in bridge, h1 in neck and their stacked single coil in the middle (sa1 or sar1 something like that)
hope i was of some help!
peace
A Wood
