They're many guitarists I dig over the decades, but now I can "Frehley" admit that Paul Stanley is my favorite guitarist. Back in the day, while I played lead if needed, I was mostly a rhythm guitarist / vocalist, and that's what I enjoy most. Paul created the songs, and played for the song, which I admire. Paul is very underrated IMO, as was John Lennon's rhythm playing.

Back in the day, there were always plenty of lead players, and I had more gigs because I played rhythm (and bass) and did vocals, worked out well for me. Many lead players didn't want any competition in the band.

We need guys like you to get the job done right . It’s so good to have that guy

Angus taught me to put a pickup ring on the bridge pickup of an SG standard to put it at the proper damn angle! Lol

I wouldn't go as far as to say he's my favorite, but I dig his style. Kinda the way the riff in Mr. Speed is ya know. He used that riff in tons of cool old songs and at least a couple on his solo album. For the record, I was a massive Kiss fan until Dynasty. I still am and I still think everything from that album forward was pretty much crap.

Also let's not forget that Gene wrote a lot of very cool songs too. And even though bassists bag on him, he wrote a lot of really cool bass lines. I am a bassist and even though my father before me was a bassist I have to say Gene is the reason I picked a bass up. My first bass when I was 9 was a Kay I picked out because it vaguely resembled the body shape of that black and red Spector he played.

Anyway, I always loved that style Paul had with those riffs.

I either put a piece of foam under it or a block of wood shaped like a wedge
