So I'm done with doubling my amps. So far it's VH4 with EVM12L combined with a different amp with V30s.

Now it's time to triple them :D , but before I do that I need another speaker that will add something special to EVM12L/v30 combo. I'm looking for something more v30ish, a third speaker to make the sound even more wider.

What should I get?

Can you compare the EV to the V30 please ? Does the EV tend to make things sound really smooth, compared to the V30's in your face tone ?

I was thinking of trying this combo.

I don't know if I can compare them, they are so different I don't even know what to take as a base for comparison. I don't think v30s sound "in your face" at all, now EVM12L does sound so, in fact so much that I find it irritating; mixing it with V30s brings the balance together. Due to extended frequency range they add a nice touch to the bottom & the top end, it's VERY cool.

If you play metal try the combination & you'll thank me later, mind-blowing sound!

Yeah thanks. I guess what I really meant is if the EVs "round" out the tone, taking away any aggressive edge compared to Celestions in general.

Well, EVM doesn't have that ear cutting midrange of v30s, but it has more cutting top end.
