Another Renegade question - channel vol vs. main vol

My ignorance is about to be exposed here....
Are each channel's volume knobs affecting the power tubes at all, or are they strictly preamp volume? Is the Main 1 knob the means of adjusting power tube output? Are the power tubes not "maxed out" until both Main 1 and Main 2 are all the way up?
I'm just trying to understand my amp better.

Hi!I don't have a Renegade but... Main 1 is the Master Volume control,so,it's the main control of the power tubes.Main2 is like a boost,but is another Master Volume control put after Main1 .So,if you want the output tubes to be "maxed out",you just have to put the Channel volume all the way up and Main1 "all the way up" too. ;) :D
 
adjust the gain and turn channel vol up..Main1 is the overall master basically and 2 is made for boost but can be used other wise as a different channel per the footswitch ,,,But Bruce said It really wasnt designed like this persay..
